Welcome to the 2003 season.
Some dates to remember for the next month or so are:
Sun. 16 March – first game for U17 (8.00am at Burringbah V Valleys)
Sat. 5 April –first games for teams (Minkey to U15’s)
Sat. May 17 – Movie night at the club
As you can sss there wil be a movie marathon night held at the club house on Saturday May 17 starting at 5 pm. The movies will start with shows for the littlies (and for some biggies) such as the Lion King and progress through the evening till we reach mature age material. I’ll advise you all further of times and movies as it gets closer
The BBQ will start this Thursday. The roster will be on the board near the canteen please write your name on the Thursday that suits you for cooking
Congratulations to the players who trialled for Brisbane teams. Again a number of players have been named in the squads for various age groups: Curtis Hevey, Peter Willington, Aaron Kingsford, Nathan Grace Dix, Mathew Lageroth, Nicholas Edds, Liam Warton. Several players are also under further consideration for possible inclusion in the teams for the State Championships including Joel Walker - Well done.
The BHA are holding a hockey clinic for one day during the Easter hols. The date is April 22 and will run from 10 am to 4 pm. The coaches will be special invites and include Australian hockey players/ coaches, players and coaches form the Qld Scorchers and Blades. The cost is $70 and a form needs to be sent in 9get from the President). All attendees will receive a cap and drink bottle and be in the draw for a sign Kookaburras shirt.
All news letters and game times will be on the Norths web site. The web address is www.gjames.com.au/norths During the season I would like the coaches to send me match reports and I will get these put in the newsletters and on the web.
All the teams require a manager to help organise the players each week. There is not much involved in this role. If you are interested please see Brian Kingsford on Thursday night.
