Some dates to remember for the next month or so are:
Sat. May 17 – Movie night at the club
As you can sss there wil be a movie marathon night held at the club house on Saturday May 17 starting at 5 pm. The movies will start with shows for the littlies (and for some biggies) such as the Lion King and progress through the evening till we reach mature age material. I’ll advise you all further of times and movies as it gets closer
The BBQ will start this Thursday. The roster will be on the board near the canteen. Please write your name on the Thursday that suits you for cooking. For the U15 and U17 parents I would ask that you nominate on the nights that we will run the fitness training. I’ll know in the next week when this will start.
The club will be holding a “Christmas in July” function (date to be set). The event will be an afternoon/ evening event with all the Chrissy trimmings including a tree etc. Everyone will be asked to bring along some nibblies and a present to go under the tree. These presents will then be donated to the Royal Children’s Hospital at Herston for distribution throughout the hospital.
The BHA are holding a hockey clinic for one day during the Easter hols. The date is April 22 and will run from 10 am to 4 pm. The coaches for the clinic will include guest coaches/ players from the Australian hockey teams and coaching staff, players and coaches from the Qld Scorchers and Blades. The cost is $70 and a form needs to be sent in (get this from the President). All attendees will receive a cap and drink bottle and be in the draw for a signed Kookaburra’s shirt.
All news letters and game times will be on the Norths web site. The web address is www.gjames.com.au/norths During the season I would like the coaches to send me match reports and I will get these put in the newsletters and on the web.
All the teams require a manager to help organise the players each week. There is not much involved in this role. If you are interested please see Brian Kingsford on Thursday night.
