Match Reports
Norths Under 11s Report Saturday 9th of July
As this fixture was at the end of school holidays the team was down quite a few players. Fortunately, the Under 9's came to the rescue with Callum and George helping out. We ended up with only 8 field players with Cosmo having to fill in as goalie at the very last minute. The first half saw us outnumbered to some degree as Easts attacked throughout. However midfielders James and Drew ran tirelessly and led by example with some good passing to our lonesome attackers Isaac and Alexe. Callum and George (halfbacks) were in everything and obviously enjoyed the chance to play up a grade. Tom and Mitchell D were solid defenders and Cosmo kept busy in the goal circle. It is good to see our sixteens being hit quickly and often to the left food of the opposition. Our players are also becoming more confident of using their skills and taking on the opposition. This is all good stuff. With the day being quite hot and having only eight field players on our side, the floodgates could have been expected to open in the second half. However to all 9 players credit they kept running (and running...) in both attack and defence and were rewarded with a good goal to James. It was great to see the commitment shown by the players on the weekend in testing circumstances. This augurs well for future games when we have a full compliment of players. Keep up the good work. Norths Under 13s Report Saturday 9th of July
My James was out, but James Battams, Draw and Issac from the under 11's were on-hand again for a stint against the big blokes – and they're very welcome too.
Kedron haven't been a problem thus far this season and we scored within a couple of minutes of the start of the game. Our game plan is always simple – keep the ball in tight control and we'll win most games. Against the more skilled players we get dispossed but at least we're out there trying our best and improving (usually) from game to game.
On saturday we saw Corrie score a nice goal and set up another – well done Corrie.
Nick kept well in the net all day and it's usually an excellent goal that gets by him or we fail to clear the ball properly, this happened again when Nick did a good save but we failed to clear. The player on he left post has to clear the keepers pads after he makes the save and we mustn't let players have free shots from corners, you must get out with your stick on the ground and close them down.
We got clear by two goals but by the break they had pegged us back to 2-2. No panic though as we were looking the better team – we just had to dig a little deeper to get out on top. In the second half everyone contributed well, with a solid game right across the field. Well done.Again, our rock was Jayden in the centre who is now throwing some excellent passes.

Levies
A turf levy for all teams that play and train on artificial turf (Colmslie and Kedron Wavell/ Burringbah) will be imposed this year. The cost of the levy will be finalised and the players in the teams that play on this surface will be required to pay this levy by the commencement of the games.
