Match Report
Opposition: Easts(2)
Date: 13-Jul-2004
Time: 7:00pm
Bit worried to begin with but we managed 9 to begin with and then 10 minutes into the game our final 2 players turned up. Apparantly they had to stop for an urgent Chocolate thick shake.
Lefts the practice balls behind in the dugout!!!! Shit.
1st half.
Better than last week for sure. it's good to have Wayne and Colin back on the field - we actually had a midfield. Because it's now Friday I've forgotten most of what went on - I think Steve managed the first goal off the inside of the right post about 10 minutes into the game. We dominated for the most part and spent most of the ime in their area - Rickie may have touched the ball once in this half, mostly the attack was stiffled early on in the midfield by some pretty good back tackling (in the most part). I think Greg scored a goal and then Moses nabbed one. It wasn't a bad half and everyone contributed.
Half time score 3–0
The break saw us chatting about keeping the game going and doding the usual
things - keep it wide and simple.
2nd Half
For the second half we started with the run on team (mostly becuase that's all
we have). At least running the subs is easy. We didn't play quiet so well in
this half and managed to butcher several attempts (bad passing.......). No,
we just didn't finish the opportunities off. We might want to do this in
the future. We probably would've been into double figures in this game we
missed so many. Steve did manage to put another one into the goal to get his total to 2 for the game. Andrew (the knitter) managed to escape the clutches of
the 'little women' and played a steady game as right half - not one episode of
falling over and not a single air swing - took the amusement right out of the
game (well, upto Steve having some of his shots late in the game!).
8:10 next week folks. We're missing you Darryl - come play Fullback.
Final Score 4–r01.
