New Acoustic Laminate(31/01/08)G.James now produces a dedicated 'acoustic' laminated glass for use in residential and commercial window and door applications. Originally developed for reducing the cabin noise in diesel powered vehicles, this product offers superior sound insulation over standard PVB interlayers. The clear 0.76mm interlayer can be incorporated with any glass configuration (as per standard laminated glass products).
Latest Addition to Optilight® Range(25/01/08)The Optilight® range has been extended in include a new PVB interlayer which offers superior solar performance when compared with a standard clear interlayer. This interlayer has been given the product reference of "X" and will be initially offered in clear (reference: HL1X9) and green (HL2X9). Early measurements indicate 12.76mm HL1X9 has a visible light transmittance (VLT) of 75% with a Shading Coefficient (SC) of 0.61 compared to our previous best clear option (HL119) at 79% and 0.73 respectively. The green option 12.76mm HL2X9 shows a VLT of 67% and an SC of 0.49. These products are ideal for shopfronts and ground floor & retail areas of commercial premises and may also assist in meeting the energy legislation requirements of the BCA - Section J.
New Coating means Better Performance(21/01/08)Energy legislation and the push for 4½ and 5 green star commercial buildings has seen demand increase for better performing glass without sacrificing visible light transmittance. Until recently G.James had a limited range of glass products with a Shading Coefficient (SC) lower than 0.36. To address this situation G.James is pleased to announce the release of our new double-stack low E coatings - Solarplus® DLE55. Tests reveal the clear coating achieves an SC of 0.35, green 0.29 and grey 0.24. Solarplus® DLE55 is now available on clear and all tints and must be incorporated into an Insulated Glass Unit. |
